How can we help you?

Daily Visits

Can't make it home on your lunch break? We're there for you. Going on vacation? We can come by up to 4 times a day. Customize each visit however you like!

Boarding

We offer boarding services in several of our sitters' homes. Dogs receive extra attention and stay in a calm, quiet environment. Each location has a fenced-in outdoors area.

Additional Services

From pet transport services to grooming to veterinary care we've got you covered. Our visits also include free home detail (water the plants, bring in the mail, etc).

General Info

We like to think of ourselves as the “anti-kennel”. Keeping pets safe and comfortable in their regular routine at home. When you call, we’ll discuss your pets and what services you need. Then we’ll set up your free “meet and greet” visit. During this initial consultation we’ll collect more detailed information and provide you with references and a copy of our insurance information.
We are happy to administer pill, powder, and injectable medications. We follow any special instructions (e.g. “put the pill in a treat or piece of cheese”). We do not charge extra to administer medications, including injections.
Although the majority of our clients have dogs and cats, we also take care of:
  • Fish, Frogs, Snakes, Turtles, and Geckos
  • Parrots, Parakeets, Cockatiels, Canaries and Finches
  • Hamsters, Gerbils, Mice, Rats, and Hedgehogs
  • Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, and Ferrets

If you have an exotic pet we’d love to customize a pet sitting plan for you.

We never rule out animals based solely on breed (we currently take care of many Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, Chow Chows, etc). Regardless of breed, please be sure to mention any aggressive behavior ahead of time. Charlotte Pet Sitting reserves the right to turn down service if your dog is aggressive towards your sitter, other people, or other animals.

Our Sitters

Yes! In fact, we can often schedule your free meet-and-greet visit with the same sitter who will be taking care of your pets. If he or she is unavailable for the initial consultation we’ll make sure you get a chance to meet before we begin service.
In most cases, the same person will take care of your pet(s) each time. If we need to schedule a different sitter we will let you know.
Potential sitters must have prior experience working with animals and must have at least one pet of their own. We conduct a detailed background checks on every potential candidate during the hiring process. After a new sitter has accepted a position, he or she is introduced to our standard procedures for scheduling and meeting clients, followed by on-the-job training with another sitter.

Scheduling Visits

Give us a call at 704-287-7395 (8AM – 9PM) or fill out our contact request form 24 hours a day. For after-hours requests the contact form is usually best way to reach us.
We accept bookings up to a year in advance.
If we have already done a free consultation visit we can often provide same-day service in a matter of hours. Please keep in mind that we cannot provide service until we have met you and your pet, so make sure you have time for us to stop by before you leave!

Safety and Security

If your regular sitter can’t make it for any reason, our whole team is always on call to help out. We’ll let you know what the trouble is and another sitter (usually someone close to your service area) will take over immediately. Instead of relying on a friend or neighbor, you can relax and know that we’ll be there on time, every time.
We collect primary and emergency vet information before we begin any job. If your pet becomes ill we will attempt to contact you to discuss the situation and, if necessary, authorize treatment.

In case of emergency sitters are trained in pet first-aid and CPR. You may authorize us to act on your behalf in such case (or if we cannot reach you). If there is an after-hours emergency we will transport your pet to the nearest 24-hour animal hospital.
Pet sitting liability Insurance reimburses you in case of accident affecting your pet or property while we are on the job. To be insured, pet sitting companies must be a member of NAPPS (the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters) or PSI (Pet Sitters International). We carry insurance through NAPPS, though we are a member of both organizations. We provide our current certificate of insurance for your review during our free meet-and-greet visit.

We carry a fidelity bond (also known as a dishonesty bond) in addition to our insurance policy. This offers liability protection against dishonest actions by any of our employees or contractors (theft, for example). In such case, the bonding company would provide reimbursement. As noted above, all sitters are carefully screened and must pass a thorough background check before being hired.

Billing and Payment

If you are coming home from vacation, your invoice will be dated according to the last scheduled visit. Clients booking on a regular basis (often for midday visits) will receive their invoice on a monthly basis.

If you are a new client, scheduling visits with less than 48 hours notice, or booking for holiday services we may ask you to pay in advance, but we do not charge a separate fee for last-minute requests.

We encourage you to compare our payment policies with our competitors.

We request that you pay your bill within two weeks of the date on your invoice.
We accept all major credit cards, cash, and personal checks. If you’d like to pay by card, please call us at 704-287-7395.
